Livestream: Berklee singer-songwriter and cellist Laufey Lin will perform on Boston.com Thursday

In an effort to provide some virtual entertainment during the coronavirus pandemic, Boston.com is teaming up with Berklee College of Music student concert producer Victoria Verba to bring readers livestream performances from artists spanning genres including jazz, R&B, pop, and more. The performances take place on Boston.com’s Facebook and Instagram pages, and readers can vote for a song for the artists to cover before the livestream.

Singer-songwriter and cellist Laufey Lin is our next performer in our concert series with Berklee College of Music. She’ll be performing on Boston.com’s social media pages Thursday starting at 5 p.m.

Lin, who is half Icelandic and half Chinese, made her solo debut as a cellist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, became a semi-finalist on The Voice Iceland, and made it to the finals of Iceland’s Got Talent — all when she was a young teenager. Lin is currently in her fourth semester at Berklee, where she’s studying with a Presidential scholarship. She recently released her first single “Street by Street,” which has reached 100,000 cross-platform plays, and her EP is set to be released this summer.

Lin will perform a short set including a song chosen by Boston.com readers on Instagram at 5 p.m. EDT and Facebook at 5:30 p.m. EDT on Thursday. You can vote below for your favorite before she goes live.
